We are a premiere hedge fund in New York looking for a hungry, experienced data engineer to use their ETL and Data Wrangling to help us grow and take our fund to the next level.

 

What is the Job?

 

As a Data Engineer on our team, your role will touch many areas of the company. You will be utilizing your technology and programming skills to work with the large amount of data coming in to our office. You will be focusing on ETL, data ingestion, getting data into our database, figuring out how the different data pairs with our other databases, etc... In other words, we need someone to handle and work with all of our data and help our team make sense of it.

 

Related to that, you will be working on cleaning the data, filling in errors and rectifying any errors within our data sets. If you are up for it, it would be great for you to be able to explore doing some machine learning or getting your hands dirty with the modeling being done here.

 

You will be reporting to our head of engineering in our office headquarters in Midtown Manhattan.

 

Compensation

 

• $150,000 - $175,000

What Skills Do You Need?

 

• Experience with end-to-end data ETL/Ingestion (financial experience is NOT needed)

 

• Big Data Technologies like Hadoop, Cassandra, etc...

 

• Python for scripting

 

• C# for data ingestion

 

• SQL for use as a storage engine

 

• If you have experience with distributed software systems, that would be beneficial
